Kanwa Katsina, Alhaji Bello Kankara
The Kanwa of Katsina, District Head of Ketare Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara has called on Muslim Ummah to continue to uphold the good tenets and deeds practiced during the last month of Ramadan.
He also requested the village heads to continue to enlighten their subjects against open defecation, saying that very soon officials from UNICEF will visit some communities for inspection and final verification before certifying them open defecation .
Alhaji Kankara made the call when nine Village Heads of the District paid him sallah homage in his palace in Ketare.
The Village Head of Ketare, Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Ketare who led the others told Kanwa that they were in his palace to pay the traditional Sallah homage to the district head.
The Kanwa urged village heads and entire people of Ketare to be law abiding and support government policies and programs for the overall development of the area.
He noted that any community that is certified open defecation free would benefit from construction of boreholes, toilets and other projects.
The Kanwa informed the Village Heads that constructions of additional classroom in Community day Secondary Schools Pawwa and Tsamiyar Jino by the Katsina state government was stalled due to the outbreak of Corona virus pandemic, but assured them that the construction would resume as soon as the virus is curtailed .
Alhaji Bello used the occasion to express the gratitude and appreciation of people of Ketare to the Katsina State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari for executing various developmental projects in the area, among which are the construction of a Modern Health Care Center in Ketare.
The District Head also used the occasion to thank the management of Community and social development project CSDP in Katsina for executing various development projects embarked upon in the district.
While thanking the village heads for the visit, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara prayed to Almighty to return peace, security and stability in the district, state and the country at large.
Similarly the officials of Ketare Youth Development Association and Gundawa Youth Development Awareness paid a similar sallah homage to the Kanwa of Katsina in his palace in Ketare.
