President General Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria(MWUN) , Comrade Adewale Adeyanju in the honorary robe of the Institute of Corporate and Public Sector Professionals (ICPSP), after being conferred with an Honorary Fellowship of the Institute in Lagos this week.
The President General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) Comrade Adewale Adeyanju has been honoured with an honorary fellowship by the Institute of Corporate and Public Sector Professionals(ICPSP).
The Institute conferred the honour on the MWUN PG for his immense contributions and outstanding services to humanity and the promotion of ICPSP objectives.
The awardee , who has just commenced his second term in office as the President General of the MWUN has contributed in no small measure to the development of the maritime labour and the shipping sector .
Comrade Adeyanju has during his stint as the President of the Dockworkers Union of Nigeria (DUN) and subsequently the PG of MWUN initiated series of measures that have led to improvement in the welfare of his union’s members as well as a better life for them in retirement.
The ICPSP exists to develop the skills , effectiveness of people working within the corporate and public sector of the Nigerian economy
Comrade Adyanju was born in Oyo town , Oyo State to the royal family of the Adeyanjus . His capacity to handle issues of conflict has long endeared him to his colleagues in the labour sector in Nigeria
Little wonder, he has been a major player in the politics of MWUN and the NLC.He was elected the National Treasurer of the MWUN in 2002 and served meritoriously for two terms .
Comrade Adeyanju is an associate of the Nigeria Labour Institute , Trustee of NLC , Board member of the Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Fund(NSITF) and Chairman Seafarers session , International Transport Workers Federation, African region.
He is different things to many people who see him as a philanthropist , a nationalist, a bridge builder, a devout muslim , a reformist and an astute administrator.
