The Commandant of the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College, Gwagwalada, Abuja and a former National Public Relations Officer(PRO) of the Service , Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) Wale Adeniyi is to be invested with the national honour of the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) at the State House , Abuja on October 11, 2022 .
This is sequel to President Muhammadu Buhari’s approval of the conferment of the national honour of MFR on him , along with 75 others , as well as 437 nominees for the 2022 National Honours Award, in different categories.
To lend credence to the fact that professionalism , commitment , selflessness and probity have combined to pay off for Adeniyi, he is to be invested along other very distinguished personalities across all walks of life, in Nigeria who have also made remarkable contributions to the development of the Nigeria’s economy in their various segments.
They include the presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Ishaq Oloyede, and the Director General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, serving and former governors, serving and former presiding officers of the National Assembly, serving and former Chief Justices of Nigeria and serving and former members of the National Assembly.
Apart from the fact that ACG Adeniyi has proved his mettle as a turn- around professional , he has distinguished himself as a versatile officer , in all the areas he has served and the assignments he has handled in the Customs.
ACG Adeniyi displayed his enigmatic nature , when he served about five to six heads of Customs , both military and civilians as the image maker of Customs , for almost two decades until January 2017 when he was redeployed to the Apapa Area Command.
He was promoted to the rank of Comptroller in 2017 and subsequently appointed Deputy Commandant of the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College, Gwagwalada, Abuja.
It was in 2019 , while serving as the Controller in charge of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Command, Lagos, that he shone like a million stars , with his non – corruptible nature coming to light when he supervised the seizure of $8.07 million cash to be taken illegally out of Nigeria through the E-Wing of the international airport tarmac.
He was thus promoted to the rank of Assistant Comptroller General in February 2020 shortly before he was posted to head the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College, Gwagwalada, Abuja as the Commandant.
