

As part of measures to enhance the export of agricultural produce and other local products, in adherence with the President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s goal of diversifying the economy by enhancing the nation’s resources through the blue economy, the Nigerian Shippers’ Council’s Executive Secretary/CEO , Dr. Pius Akutah has visited the North East Zonal Directorate of the Council in Bauchi, Bauchi State.
The NSC’s CEO led the team from the Council on a familiarisation visit to the State recently also with a view to promoting regional integration in shipping activities.
During the visit, the Council boss held an interactive meeting with stakeholders, aimed at advancing shipping activities in the region and the role of shippers’ association in representing the interests of importers and exporters. He highlighted the Council’s initiatives aimed at improving ease of doing business.
Dr. Akutah also toured the Inland Dry Ports project site in Bauchi, an initiative of the Bauchi State Government, designed to attract both import and export activities to the area.
The visit marked a strategic step in assessing the activities of the Council in the region and reinforcing its role in trade facilitation and port economic regulation.
