Bello, Shippers’ Council’s Ex CEO Bags OON, National Honour

Immediate past Executive Secretary/CEO, of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Barr. Hassan Bello, has bagged the  National honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) . The honour was   conferred on him recently   by former President  Muhammadu Buhari, before he left office.

The award was in recognition of his sterling performance and his tremendous contributions   as the CEO of the council, which is also Nigeria’s  Economic Regulator of the seaports, for eight years .

It will be recalled that Bello , during his stint as the CEO of the Shippers’ Council enunciated myriads of policies , which engendered the growth and development of the Seaport  and the Maritime Sector  and increased the industry’s contributions to the economy.

 

While commenting on the award, Bello said: “My profound gratitude goes to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.

‘’I am humbled to announce that I have been conferred with the Prestigious National Honours Award of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.”

“This honour at this point in the history of our nation, fills my heart with sincere gratitude to the president, the nation, transport Ministry as well as the maritime sector where I was given the opportunity to serve as the Executive Secretary/CEO of the NSC for eight years.”
